The Type 73 Heavy Truck, adopted in 1973, is a general-purpose truck used by the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force for transporting personnel and supplies.
After several modifications, it was renamed the 3 1/2-ton Truck in 2003.
It is currently deployed to all branches and units of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force.
