Amusing Hobby “1/35 German Army 12.8cm Flak 40 & Würzburg Radar FuMG 39D” Plastic Model Kit.
12.8cm Flak 40
Developed by Rheinmetall, this was the German Army's largest anti-aircraft gun.
Weighing 12 tons, it was bolted to a concrete base for operation.
Equipped with an automatic loading system, it required a crew of 13 and could fire 14 rounds per minute.
Its muzzle velocity was 800 m/s, with an effective altitude of 10,000 meters.
It was operated via a central control unit and did not have a direct aiming device.
Würzburg Radar
FuMG39D A small radar developed by Germany's Telefunken.
Early models had a maximum detection range of about 29km with a distance accuracy of 25m.
The 3m parabolic antenna could be folded for transport using a trailer.
This kit reproduces the FuMG39D, which entered service in 1942.
