・About Metal Slug: A series of side-scrolling action shooting games, the first title released by SNK in 1996. Players control special forces operatives infiltrating rebel or terrorist military bases to rescue allied prisoners, annihilate enemy forces, and destroy secret weapons (bosses) in this 2D action game. \
It was released on the company's home consoles “Neo Geo” and “Neo Geo CD,” the arcade Neo Geo ‘MVS’ (Multi Video System), and later ported to other home consoles.\
The title “Metal Slug” originates from the high-performance one-man mini-tank appearing in the game. \
