V Hobby “1/700 US Light Cruiser Houston CL-81 1944 Deluxe Edition” Plastic Model Kit. \
The light cruiser Houston was commissioned in 1943 as part of the Cleveland-class light cruisers.\
Originally laid down as the Vicksburg, she was renamed Houston in honor of the heavy cruiser Houston lost in the Battle of the Java Sea in 1942. \
During the war, she saw action across the Pacific theater. After being damaged by a torpedo hit during the Battle of the Taiwan Strait in October 1944, she returned to Ulithi Base for emergency repairs.\
While undergoing further repairs at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, the war ended, preventing her return to active duty.\
Houston earned three battle stars for her service in World War II. \
Recreate the appearance of the Houston in 1944 with a meticulously detailed ship model.\
Includes decals, etched parts, metal gun barrels, deck mask stickers, and more.\
