Description
The Shima Cup features a stainless steel body finished with Yanagawa-Sanjo polishing techniques, overlaid with lacquer applied using the traditional craft of Yamanaka lacquerware. A form and structure that embodies functional beauty. And an aesthetic transcending mere utility, like a work of art. By fusing craftsmanship with industrial technology, it achieves unique expression and functionality. ・The Wamadan Series features the “Wamadan” series, which evokes the warmth of wood. Patterns meticulously hand-painted by artisans, like the rings of a tree, are never identical. The lacquer's hues and intricate application techniques recreate the texture of ancient wood weathered over time in nature.
・Highlighting the strengths of lacquer and metal, the cup body uses 18-8 stainless steel, formed and polished in Tsubame-Sanjo, Niigata Prefecture.
The upper interior features a mirror finish, while the lower section has spiral polishing lines. This creates a vigorous, creamy foam the moment beer is poured.
The double-walled construction minimizes condensation and provides excellent insulation.
While leveraging the functionality of stainless steel, the lacquer finish on the exterior adds a rich texture and a soft feel to the mouth. ・Includes a coaster made from Echizen Washi, a traditional craft from Echizen City, Fukui Prefecture. Echizen Washi is Japanese paper produced in the Okutagawa River basin of the Echizen region in Fukui Prefecture. The primary raw material for washi is bast fiber, the inner bark of plants, using materials such as kozo (paper mulberry), mitsumata (paperbush), and ganpi (daphne).
Echizen Washi is characterized by its elegant beauty in its natural off-white color, which stimulates rich sensibilities, and its high quality.
