The Type 73 Light Truck, a domestically produced small utility vehicle, remained in service across all three branches of the Self-Defense Forces: Ground, Maritime, and Air. Officially adopted by the former Defense Agency and Self-Defense Forces in 1973 (Showa 48), this renowned vehicle served for approximately a quarter-century until being replaced by the newer 1/2-ton truck in 1996 (Heisei 8).\
A major characteristic of this vehicle was the production of numerous derivative models to accommodate its wide range of uses. \
This kit reproduces the early model of the Type 73 Light Truck, which saw prolonged service, from among the variants whose detailed specifications differed by year of manufacture.\
The canvas top features a soft molded texture, hand-finished for authenticity. \
Markings include decals for vehicles belonging to Imazu 3rd Tank Battalion HQ, Narashino 1st Airborne Brigade, Fuji Training Command HQ, and Toyokawa 10th Special Artillery Regiment, plus separate numeric decals for license plates. \
