FineMold 1/72 Aircraft Series Japan Air Self-Defense Force F-15DJ Fighter Aircraft Plastic Model FP52
The F-15DJ (two-seat variant) is the aircraft introduced by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force for pilot familiarization training and type conversion from the F-15J fighter (single-seat variant). Initially, 12 aircraft were imported from the United States. Combined with domestically produced units following knock-down assembly, a total of 48 aircraft were introduced. Most are deployed to the 23rd Squadron, an instructional unit based at Nittawara Air Base in Miyazaki Prefecture, which trains new Eagle pilots. However, several are also deployed to all other F-15 squadrons.
Although often mistaken for a trainer due to its two-seat configuration, it possesses the same combat capability as the single-seat J model and is fully capable of responding to emergencies.
The kit includes markings for both the 23rd Squadron and the 304th Squadron.
Additionally, the two-seat cockpit and other features have been faithfully reproduced using new molds.
