As a visionary architect ahead of your time, succeed in Barcelona's urban planning.
The worker placement game ‘Barcelona’, where tiles and tokens on the board interlock closely, arrives in Japanese.
This is a worker placement game themed around urban planning.
In the mid-19th century, to save Barcelona from the poor living conditions caused by overcrowding,
urban planner Ildefons Cerdà devised a large-scale and bold urban plan.
Players become up-and-coming architects seeking fame within this grand vision. On each turn, they place citizen tokens to relocate into districts on the game board, performing the corresponding action for that location. As the game progresses, various elements are added to the board: streets are paved, trams begin running, and more. This enhances players' actions, accelerating the urban development.
Players earn significant prestige by advancing the construction of pivotal buildings.
Sometimes, to gain even more prestige, you might execute a “New Style Action” that goes against Seldah's vision.
However, straying too far incurs penalties, so caution is needed.
