Tomytec - Little Armory - LA065 - FIM-92 Stinger Type
The Little Armory series combines realism with articulation in 1/12 scale assembly kits.
The portable surface-to-air missile adopted by the U.S. military in 1981, commonly known as the “Stinger”. Equipped with a friend-or-foe identification system to prevent friendly fire, it possesses all-around firing capability, ensuring mobility and tracking ability to attack from positions other than directly behind the target aircraft. Its high hit rate earned it a place in the Guinness Book of Records (2011). During the Cold War, it was supplied to the Afghan Mujahideen and feared by the opposing Soviet forces as the “Hind Killer”.
This kit goes beyond simply recreating the Stinger missile launcher itself, instead modeling the complete operational equipment set.
Includes training equipment, night/bad weather thermal vision, and IFF device.
To enhance realism, materials beyond PS resin are used, such as clear parts, vinyl tubing for wiring, rubber bands, and water-slide decals. Box art is an original illustration by Kamotama.
