Sangi Railway is a railway company in Mie Prefecture that operates two railway lines, the Sangi Line and the Hokusei Line, as well as bus services.
Among its railway lines, the Sangi Line, which has been in operation since the company's founding, was originally constructed primarily to transport limestone and cement mined from Mt. Fujiwara in the northern Suzuka Mountains. It commenced commercial operations in 1931 and has been Japan's only private railway line transporting cement by freight car since 2006. Meanwhile, passenger transport has also served as a vital link for residents along the line since opening, maintaining steady demand. Convenience significantly improved after the 1970 opening of the Kintetsu connecting line, attracting a broad range of users including commuters, students, tourists, and leisure travelers.
The 851 series operating on the Sangi Line began service in 1995 on the Sangi Line (between Kintetsu Tomita Station and Nishi-Fujiwara Station / 26.6 km). As of 2025, one 3-car formation remains in active service.
This product recreates the appearance from 2013 onwards, featuring a KuHa 1881 car incorporated into the formation, replacing the KuHa 1851.
By using a separately sold power unit and N gauge running parts, it can be operated as an N gauge model train.
The recommended power unit is TM-08R (20m class A), the running parts set is TT-04R, and the pantograph is PS16P [0230].
