The KUMONI 143 series was a freight train introduced between 1978 and 1982.
It was the first freight train manufactured as a new performance electric train.
Initially built for the Shinetsu Main Line, additional units were later produced for the Hakubi Line.
Units for the Shinetsu Main Line were later transferred to the Ogaki Electric Train Depot and Nagaoka Depot to replace older rolling stock.
They ceased service as freight trains with the 1986 timetable revision. However, leveraging their capability for single-car operation, they were converted into work cars and 123 Series passenger trains for local lines.
This product recreates the Kumoni 143 series that served as freight trains.
By using the separately sold power unit and N gauge running parts, it can be operated as an N gauge model train.
We recommend the TM-14 (20m class A2) power unit, TT-03R running parts set, and PS23 pantograph. [0229].
