SSK Co., Ltd. was founded in November 1946 (Showa 21), the year after the war ended, in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City, as a sporting goods store. This was based on the belief of its founder, the late Kyozo Sasaki, that “Japan's recovery requires fostering youth through sports.”
In October 1950 (Showa 25), with the abolition of cotton fabric price controls and rationing, the company began sewing baseball uniforms. Drawing inspiration from professional baseball team uniforms, they made numerous improvements and refinements, ultimately succeeding in developing seamless baseball uniforms. In March 1956 (Showa 31), the company launched the “SSK Three-Dimensional Patterned Uniform” brand, marking the start of product development bearing the “SSK” mark. Today, the company handles a wide range of products, from manufacturing, wholesale, import, and export of sports equipment for baseball, soccer, racket sports, and more, to outdoor gear.
