According to Yasufumi Kitanaka's book, ‘Tour de France: The Golden Age’ (published by Ei Publishing), 'A casque is a head protector used instead of a helmet.\
It was commonly used in cycle road racing before hard-shell helmets became widespread.' \
In other words, a casque itself is a sports protector containing impact-absorbing material, similar to rugby or boxing headgear.\
Therefore, if you wear a casque and hit your head on something for any reason, the impact to your head will be reduced compared to not wearing anything.\
Whether this is safe or not depends on the rider's own speed, riding style, and handling ability. \
If asked about safety, it's certainly more dangerous than a helmet. Today, there are excellent helmets made of styrene foam.\
For group rides, races, and high-speed road cycling, wear a helmet. For cycling on country roads or leisurely rides combined with train travel, wear a casque. \
The Rin Project believes that, just like with bicycles, choosing the right protector for the situation and speed expands the range of enjoyment.\

In the early 2000s, enthusiasts reportedly scoured bike shops hunting for dead stock on store shelves.\
A request from a bike shop specializing in vintage road bikes aligned with our vision, leading Rin Project to revive the cask helmet. \
What kind of leather would be best? Which craftsman should we ask? We created countless prototypes and spent about two years perfecting the design.\
Thinking about it this way, it can be seen as akin to folk crafts and traditional crafts used since the good old days—like hand-forged knives, curved wooden buckets, or smoking pipes—made throughout modern Japan. \
