Yamashita Hobby 1/700 Ship Model Series Special Type Destroyer Type II Amagiri SP Plastic Model NVE11
A period-selection kit for the Special Type Destroyer “Amagiri”.
This is a historical episode version following “Raigeki 1942” and “Fumizuki 1943”.
In May 1943, it encountered PT-109 commanded by John F. Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States.
While opinions differ between the U.S. side (“sunk by Amagiri's ramming attack”) and the Japanese side (“a collision accident at night”) regarding the sinking of PT-109, this kit depicts the episode where PT-109 caught fire, burned, and sank.
Late-war special-type destroyers enhanced their anti-aircraft armament. Amagiri also removed its second main gun turret, installing two triple 25mm machine gun mounts in its place.
This kit allows you to recreate the ship's appearance in 1943 and 1944.
Includes etched parts for window frames, boat davits, and torpedo loading cranes
