First, square pieces of wood are roughly cut from flat surfaces and roughly shaped, then dried over time. After that, the shape is finished solely by sanding. Achieving the same shape requires considerable skill. Once the shape is complete, each piece is hand-painted and finished one by one. ・The wood used is a southern species of white wood, scientifically named Albizia falcata. In Japan, it is also known as “Nanyo-kiri” (South Sea Paulownia). This tree grows exceptionally fast.
