PLUM-KiHa 20 Diesel Railcar-Display Model-Unpainted Assembly Plastic Kit-PP137
We have produced the “KiHa 20 Diesel Railcar,” which served on local lines nationwide during the Japanese National Railways era, as a precise 1/80 scale plastic kit series by PLUM, down to the undercarriage. Tools, paints, etc., are required separately. As this is an assembly-type scale display model, it cannot run on its own. For running capability, we recommend the following items in addition to this product: Tenshodo No.05002 Coreless Power Track 26P (φ10.5 plate wheels) and Nikko Model DT22 Center Pins for Wooden Floorboards. For couplers, please use commercially available couplers of your choice. *Running adjustments may be necessary depending on track conditions. Installation and modification of equipment must be done at your own discretion and responsibility. Please refrain from contacting Tenshodo Co., Ltd. regarding the installation of the Coreless Power Track.

This PLUM 1/80 scale plastic kit series meticulously recreates the “KiHa 20 Series Diesel Railcar,” which served on local lines nationwide during the Japanese National Railways era, down to the undercarriage.
The body is molded in a color reminiscent of the beloved “Tarako” (cod roe) hue, specifically the Tokyo Metropolitan Area color (Vermilion 5). Enjoy it as-is or repaint it to your preferred color.
The windows feature a gimmick allowing selection between two open positions, perfect for non-air-conditioned local lines. The underframe faithfully recreates the array of equipment, including the DMH17 engine, while the bogies are precisely modeled with mechanisms like the swaying pillow.
Headlights and snowplows, which varied by region, can be selected from multiple options. The easy-to-power mechanism, popular in the Kominato Railway KIHA 200, is also adopted here, making this a kit you can thoroughly enjoy even with just one car.
