Idola Solid Hand - 1/144 Scale - Plastic Model Parts Product Introduction Idola "Solid Hand Square Fingers, Size S, 1/144 Scale" is a plastic model part. Solid Hands are 3D-printed detail-enhancing parts. For humanoid character robots, the size and shape of the fist have a significant impact on the overall impression of the model, making them a key point of emphasis for character robot modelers. While there are currently many aftermarket hand parts available on the market to replace kit parts, they often contain too much detail and can sometimes appear out of place when attached to the kit. Most of these parts are designed for robots with heights in the 18-20m class, which can create unnatural proportions when used on smaller robots. Therefore, we have created a lineup of three sizes compatible with 1/144 scale, featuring simple designs with minimal molded detail to blend in with a variety of robot character models. If you install the fist parts included with the kit, which are oversized for the overall balance due to molding reasons or parts with holes in the fists to hold weapons, without any modification, the overall proportions may be disrupted or the realism may be lost. These parts can be used to further improve the appearance. Even the extremely small molds that are difficult to process by hand are reproduced with the precise detail that only a 3D printer can achieve. At the same time, the simple design ensures compatibility with many character robot kits. The size is designed for use with 1/144 character robot kits. The set includes two pairs of gripping hands (left and right), one pair of flat hands (left and right), and separate parts for the back of the hand, so one set can be used with multiple kits. The gripping fist parts precisely recreate the shape of a tightly clenched thumb, similar to the human form. The flat hand parts are sculpted to create a natural, relaxed line. The S-size complex design features precise details sculpted into the finger pads and palms, a feat only possible with 3D printing. Properly shaped and sized fists make the arms appear shorter, while shorter arms make the legs appear longer, resulting in a slimmer, more muscular figure. Even if you're thinking of building a straight figure, adding just the fist parts can make the figure look cool and tighten the overall image. Each size is intended for use with 1/144 scale character robot kits. XS size: 15m class (kit height: 115mm and up) S size: 18m class (kit height: 125mm and up) M size: 20m class (kit height: 140mm and up) Each size has the same basic form, but to prevent size confusion during storage or assembly, there are two designs (XS and M are simple designs, while S is a complex design with more detail). Parts can be machined in the same way as plastic models. Cut the support material (strut) under the fist with thin-bladed pliers and sand it flat. Since the support material is only around the wrist, there's no need to worry about losing the fine details. Remove any layering or dot marks typical of SLA by sanding the surface with #320 waterproof sandpaper. Then, sand with #400-#600 for a clean finish. If the ball joint is tight, sand it down with sandpaper. If it's loose, apply instant glue or other adhesive to adjust. This kit can also be painted just like a plastic kit. To improve paint adhesion, we recommend lightly cleaning the parts with a mild detergent and then spraying on a primer. The upper part of the hand is a separate part, making it easy to paint different parts. Painting the joints in different colors enhances the sense of precision. Metallic colors also add a nice accent. This product, previously sold as a "Mechanical Hand," has been significantly redesigned using the latest 3D printing technology.
