Each turn, players can perform two actions from six choices.
Using decay actions, seizing spores, or hindering other mushrooms—there are many ways to gain an advantage in the game.
Players can evolve their playstyle. For example, they can choose a more aggressive playstyle, stealing other players' spores or disrupting mycelium networks, or opt for a more defensive approach, protecting their own territory and spores. The game board consists of triangular tiles, each representing different environments and nutrients essential for mushroom growth. Players can add these tiles to the board, ensuring it constantly grows and evolves. Illustrated by game designer J.J. Ville himself, the artwork features a beautiful and accurate botanical style, depicting over 69 species of mushrooms found in the wild. It also includes “Fun Fungal Facts” to help you learn about mushrooms. Mycelia is designed for 1 to 4 players. For solo play, you can compete against an AI player. Additionally, when playing with 2-3 players, you can include the AI player. Moreover, the AI's difficulty can be adjusted across two levels.
