Product Description
TACOM “1/72 German Army Silbervogel Ballistic Flight Bomber 2 in 1” Plastic Model Kit.
The Silbervogel was a manned spaceplane with lifting body characteristics, conceived as part of Germany's World War II plan to bomb America.
Capable of ballistic flight allowing it to bomb targets even on the opposite side of the globe, this aircraft was also called an antipodal bomber.
However, it remained only a plan, as realistic considerations regarding its structure and operation were never made.
However, both the United States and the Soviet Union recognized the concept of a winged spacecraft capable of aircraft-like maneuverability at low altitudes. After WWII, they took the technologies born from this project back to their countries, refining them into hypersonic glide missiles that remain under active research and development today.
Includes two types of nose parts (single-seat and dual-seat cockpit), clear parts, and four types of markings.
