Product Description
TAKOM “1/35 German VK45.02(H) Draft Blueprint w1461” Plastic Model Kit.
The VK45.02(H) was a planned vehicle designated by the Weapons Office Section 6 in April 1942. It featured a turret equipped with the 8.8cm KwK 43 L/71 gun, developed for the VK45.02(P) (typ 180/181), mounted on the chassis of the VK45.01(H), which later became the Tiger I. In March 1942, the 6th Department of the Armaments Office requested improvements to the VK45.01(H) turret from Henschel. At that time, a draft drawing numbered 1461 was produced, showing the VK45.02(P) turret mounted directly onto the VK45.01(H) chassis. Subsequently, a revised proposal was submitted to modify the front hull armor from a nearly vertical shape to a 50-60 degree rearward slope. Henschel provisionally proposed producing 330 VK45.01(H) (Tiger I) tanks, followed by 170 VK45.02(H) tanks, and then starting production of the VK45.03(H) (later the “Tiger II”) after July 1943. This proposal was rejected by Chief of Staff of the Armored Forces Headquarters, Wolfgang Tomale, and the VK45.02(H) plan was scrapped in October 1942. The tracks are link-and-length type. Includes etched parts, clear parts, and two types of markings.
