This is the RYEFIELD MODEL “1/35 M4A4 Sherman” plastic model kit.
The M4 medium tank was a 30-ton class medium tank developed and manufactured in the United States during World War II, boasting high mobility and firepower.
The M4A4 was produced at the Detroit Tank Arsenal, equipped with an A-57 30-cylinder liquid-cooled gasoline engine.
Though many were supplied to the British Army, this vehicle faced maintenance challenges due to its unique engine design—a 30-cylinder unit formed by connecting five straight-six gasoline engines in a fan-shaped bundle. Nevertheless, it reportedly experienced fewer breakdowns than contemporary British tanks and demonstrated solid operational performance. Approximately 7,500 M4A4s were produced between June 1942 and August 1943. While the U.S. Army used them solely for training within the United States, they were supplied not only to the British Army but also to the Canadian Army, the Free Polish Army, the Free French Forces, and the Chinese Nationalist Army.
