Manufactured by Nippon Sharyo Ltd. in 2004 (Heisei 16), it was born as a dedicated limited express train for Chubu Centrair International Airport.
At the airport line's opening in 2005 (Heisei 17), it operated as a 3-car set, but currently runs as a 4-car set.
The 2000 Series Mue Sky features a significant departure from previous Meitetsu trains, with its body painted in “blue and white.” This makes it instantly recognizable to international visitors as the dedicated airport access train.
Furthermore, the entire front section is covered in transparent polycarbonate resin panels and glass, giving it a striking impression as an express train.
Plarail Formation Series: Meitetsu 2000 Series Mue Sky. Features two-speed switching. Requires one AA battery (sold separately).
