A volatile solvent oil obtained by fractional distillation of petroleum within the 150°C to 180°C range and refined by fluidized bed desulfurization.
▪️Usage: Use alone as a medium to dissolve paint for underpainting (évocation) and glazing. Also serves as a diluent for linseed oil, poppy oil, other mediums, and varnishes.
▪️Properties: Paint dissolved in petrol has weak adhesion, so use in appropriate amounts, preferably for underpainting. Unlike turpentine, it lacks a sticky feel, allowing smooth underdrawing.
