KAWADA's pinion gears feature a unique tooth tip shape with a very slight radius on both sides to suppress gear noise. This special shape eliminates gear noise during operation, achieving quiet and smooth rotation. Despite being made of duralumin, a special plating + heat treatment is applied to the surface, achieving a high surface hardness of HV600 or higher. Its excellent wear resistance means the teeth resist thinning even with long-term use, maintaining their new condition for extended periods. Each pinion gear is meticulously precision-machined individually in Japan. As proof of this, examining the tooth surface may occasionally reveal linear machining marks. These are known as ‘hob cutter marks’. In general industrial applications, gears bearing these hob cutter marks are considered high-quality gears produced by cutting.
