Product Introduction
The Hokuriku Shinkansen will begin full operation in spring 2015. We are releasing this JR West W7 Series Shinkansen, which will be active on that line, at the same time as its opening.
The front shape follows the flow of the JR East E2 Series Shinkansen, known as the One Motion Line. It reproduces the calm style clad in sky blue and copper.
JR West is introducing the “Gran Class,” a class above the Green Car, for the first time. The downbound lead car No. 1 is faithfully reproduced, including the interior seats. The symbol mark with “JR WEST JAPAN RAILWAY COMPANY” printed on it is vividly printed. The intermediate coupling section employs a diaphragm coupler with a centering mechanism for easy coupling. This achieves realistic and reliable coupling. It is equipped with a well-established power unit with a flywheel. It reproduces stable, powerful running even with 12 cars. Wheels featuring disc brakes on the wheel flanges, characteristic of Shinkansen rolling stock, are used. Side destination displays are pre-printed. Set as the “Hakutaka/Kanazawa-bound” stopping train type. Both the basic and extension sets come packaged in a 6-car bookcase. The minimum passing radius is set to R315. Please use curved track/elevated curved track with a radius of R315mm or greater.
