KATO collaborated with NOCH, a long-established German diorama supplies manufacturer, to develop the “Japanese Grasslands” series.
Based on the concept “Japanese landscapes, in Japanese colors,” these materials are ideal for recreating the unique hues of grasses and trees nurtured by Japan's climate. Japanese Grassland and Deep Snow are new diorama material series for Japanese landscapes, created by KATO in collaboration with NOCH, a long-established German scenery manufacturer. We thought they might be “darker,” “murkier,” and “dull.” The world of Japanese wabi-sabi is one where, amidst the overall murky natural colors, you are occasionally struck by the startling emerald green of the grass, or captivated by the bright red autumn leaves among the mottled colors of the trees in autumn. These products feature colors and materials specific to Japan so that they can be used for a variety of purposes, including not only model railroads, but also plastic models, figures, dollhouses, and installation art.
