KATO N Gauge - 227 Series 1000 Subseries - 2-Car Set - 10-1904
Features the SD01 and SR08 formations assigned to the Suita General Rolling Stock Depot, Hineno Branch, Shin-Zaike Police Station. Reproduces the door opening/closing indicator displays on the sides and the interior with long seats. Reproduces specifications differing from the 0 Series, such as the water deflector shape above the crew compartment door, the fascia without louvers, the side with door opening/closing indicator equipment, and side windows without curtain rail representations.
Distinguishes between the SR formation with one pantograph and the SD formation with two pantographs.
The anti-falling canopy between leading cars is reproduced as a separate part. Two types are provided: one prioritizing appearance for the leading end, and one for intermediate coupling during multiple-unit operation.
Adopts slotless motors for smoother and quieter running performance. Decoupling plates are pre-installed.
Head/tail lights illuminate (with off switch). Headlights are reproduced with white LEDs, fog lights with orange LEDs. All coupling points feature body-mounted close-coupling couplers (hookless). Includes a two-stage electrical connector (2-stage) attachable to the front coupler of the leading car. Front destination display shows “T Local Wakayama” pre-installed. Includes two interchangeable displays: “U Local Nara” “W Local Wakayama”, and “Blank” destination signs are included.

The 227 Series 1000 Subseries is a two-car commuter DC electric train that began operation in 2019 (Heisei 31) to replace older JNR-type rolling stock predominantly used in the Wakayama area, aiming to improve safety and service levels.
Its distinctive feature is a green-based color scheme “expressing the profound culture, history, and nature shared by the Nara and Wakayama areas it traverses.”
While its exterior resembles the 227 Series 0 Subseries, it incorporates changes tailored to its operational role, such as door opening/closing indicator displays beside the side sliding doors and long seats inside the cars.
