Commuter transportation in Jakarta is handled by PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI), a subsidiary of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), in which the Indonesian government holds shares. Operating on a DC-electrified line just under 300 km in length, it was formerly known as JABODETABEK. The rolling stock used consists primarily of commuter trains transferred from Japan since 2000. Among these, the 205 series transferred between 2013 and 2020 reached a total of 1,000 cars. Its popularity and attention among commuter train enthusiasts and 205 series fans stems from the variety of configurations available and the operation of 12-car formations, a configuration not seen in Japan. While famous for its distinctive red front end and striking red-and-yellow livery, the design changed in 2020—marking KAI's 75th anniversary—to a base of red and white stripes. The front logo was also renewed, and the trains are affectionately known by the nickname “KAI Commuter.” Brand Name: KATO 12-Car Set We are releasing the 205 Series for Indonesia's commuter railways, which has gained attention as a “Japanese-style train exported overseas.” Experience the impressive sight of a 12-car formation running in N gauge, a scale not seen with Japan's 205 series.
