A plastic model assembly kit for a high-performance racer featuring shaft-drive four-wheel drive.
The Cross Spear 01 was designed by Hyper Designer Takayuki Yamazaki, known for the ‘DCR (Decross)’ series and ‘Dual Ridge Jr.’.
Inheriting the name ‘Rays Spear’ from Mini 4WD, this machine features a unique shape where the side panels on both sides of the body are separated from the center section and supported by a truss structure, along with a sharp spear-like form.
The light gray body, inspired by stealth fighter jets, is thoroughly designed for a light, low form, pursuing stable running unique to a low center of gravity.
A clear, separate part is provided for the removable canopy.
The chassis uses the lightweight, compact VZ, with the main body in German Gray and A parts such as rollers and gear covers coordinated in white. The fluorescent green spiral wheels are fitted with black super-hard small-diameter low-profile tires. The lightweight body and VZ chassis are a perfect match for actual racing. This is a model sure to attract attention and perform well in races. VZ Chassis Pursuing Strength and Expandability The VZ chassis further refines the performance of the popular, compact, lightweight, short-wheelbase VS chassis used in racing.
It retains the excellent features of the VS chassis, such as its tight turning performance and high maintainability, while increasing the strength of the bumper, rear stay base, propeller shaft bearings, and other parts.
Another key point is its moderate “flex” that absorbs impact.
Additionally, both the rear roller stays and front bumper can be split.
This significantly increases setup flexibility.
Furthermore, the shaft bearings use low-friction POM resin 620 plastic bearings.
The chassis body and A-parts like the gear cover are both made of ABS resin.
The gear ratio is set to 3.5:1.
