The radiator valve is a cooling system that prevents power loss and ensures responsive, stable power output even under extremely harsh conditions, such as prolonged driving while frequently utilizing the high-rev range of high-performance, high-power engines. Within this system, the radiator valve plays a crucial role.
The difference lies in its mounting position atop the reservoir tank. Consequently, only the air within the reservoir tank passes through the radiator valve to regulate pressure, not the coolant itself. When engine combustion raises the temperature in the cooling system, the volume of coolant expands. This increases the volume of coolant in the reservoir tank, pushing the air upward. When the pressure exceeds the set point, the main pressure valve opens, allowing air to flow into the atmosphere to regulate the pressure. Conversely, when the engine cools and the temperature in the cooling system drops, the pressure also decreases. At this time, the vacuum valve activates, drawing air back in from the atmosphere to prevent negative pressure from developing inside the cooling system.
