This set includes no-knead clay and tools that can be fired in a home oven after drying. Enjoy easy, accessible pottery by following the included manual. The finished pieces are fully functional and can be used as interior decor.
The three types of clay (“Craft Clay,” “Black Kiboshi,” and “Red Clay”) share the same properties and can be mixed together. You can also knead in acrylic or watercolor paints. Use pottery tools or a palette knife for shaping. Depending on the piece, allow it to dry for several days to about a week. After thorough drying, fire in an oven set to 160-180°C (320-356°F). Firing time varies by piece, but aim for 30-40 minutes. It's done when the entire piece has a nicely browned color.
For waterproofing items like tableware or vases that hold liquids, use the included water- and oil-resistant coating agent “Yu~”. After thoroughly firing your oven clay piece and allowing it to cool, apply the coating with a brush. Once dry, heat it at 100–120°C for 15–30 minutes. Let it cool, and it's complete.
