Hasami ware refers to ceramics fired in Hasami Town, Higashisonogi District, Nagasaki Prefecture. Due to its shipping point, it was called Imari ware during the Edo period and Arita ware in the Meiji era. Adjacent to Arita Town in Saga Prefecture, Hasami Town in Nagasaki Prefecture produces Hasami ware, a ceramic with over 400 years of tradition, much like Arita ware.
A gentle worldview created by hand-painting. The brushstrokes using the outline brush for the Ichin painting technique possess a dynamic vitality.
The individual variations that emerge are also marks of human craftsmanship. The diverse techniques of Hasami ware weave stories onto the table.
