The legendary 2-stroke sports bike dubbed the “400 Killer”.
As automotive emissions regulations tightened in the 1970s, the global market for 2-stroke engines was shrinking.
Yamaha began developing a culminating model, prepared for it to be the “last 2-stroke.”
The RZ250 (4L3), packed with the latest technology of the era—including a water-cooled parallel twin 2-stroke engine, monoshock rear suspension, and cast wheels—was released in 1980.
This kit faithfully reproduces the real bike using all-new molds based on thorough research.
