Description
Hasegawa - Imperial Japanese Navy - Type A Destroyer - Operation Ten-Go - Plastic Model
Product Introduction
Final Battle Specification Arrives.
In April 1945, the Second Fleet was formed with the battleship Yamato, the light cruiser Yugiri, and eight destroyers. Yukikaze joined the battle line alongside her sister ships, Isokaze and Hamakaze.
On the afternoon of April 6th, the fleet departed the Seto Inland Sea to reinforce Okinawa. Named “Operation Ten-Go,” this mission had no air support and offered extremely low chances of survival. Yukikaze fought desperately in the air defense battle alongside the other ships, but history records Yamato met a spectacular end. True to its reputation as a lucky ship, Yukikaze survived this operation and returned to Kure. The kit includes numerous new parts to recreate the ship's appearance during Operation Ten-Go. Included Decals: Operation Ten-Go (Yamato Okinawa Special Attack Operation) (April 1945).
New plastic parts include the bridge, stern deck, additional anti-aircraft machine guns, armor plates, and radar.
