Fujimi Models - Kan NEXT Series - No.12 - Imperial Japanese Navy Battleship - Pre-painted
The base for Musashi, depicting her as the Combined Fleet flagship from her launch with four secondary batteries, has been redesigned.
Newly molded parts recreate features distinct from the popular Operation Shō-1 (Battle of Leyte Gulf) version.
The battleship Yamato, symbolizing the Imperial Japanese Navy, armed with the world's largest 46cm guns.
Musashi, built as the second ship of the class, was completed in August 1942.
By October, she had been retrofitted with newly developed radar and deployed to Truk Island as the situation in the Solomon Islands grew critical.
The lead ship Yamato and the second ship Musashi stood proudly side-by-side in anchorage. In June 1943, Musashi became the flagship of the Combined Fleet, flying the admiral's pennant.
Subsequently, to counter air attacks, the secondary guns on both sides were removed, and modifications were made to strengthen anti-aircraft armament. They would go on to participate in the Battle of the Philippine Sea and the Battle of Leyte Gulf...
