Fujimi Models - 350 Ship Series - EX-3 - Imperial Japanese Navy Aircraft Carrier - Ship - 11
Product Description\
\
Models the appearance during Operation MI, where it served as the flagship of the Nagumo Mobile Force. This product is an unpainted kit requiring glue assembly and painting. Scale is 1/350, featuring a full hull style including the ship's bottom. The aircraft carrier Kaga was originally under construction as the second ship of the Tosa-class battleships. However, construction was halted due to the Washington Naval Treaty and the damage sustained by the battleship Amagi during the Great Kantō Earthquake. Kaga was subsequently completed as an aircraft carrier to replace the lost ship. Initially featuring a dual-deck configuration, she was modernized at the Sasebo Naval Arsenal in 1934-1935 to a modern, full-length flight deck design. During the Pacific War, she served as part of the main carrier force alongside the Akagi, Hiryu, and Shokaku, participating in the Hawaii and Indian Ocean operations. In June 1942, she joined the Midway Island assault operation but was hit and sunk by air attacks from the waiting U.S. carrier task force.
▪️This product recreates the ship's appearance during the Battle of Midway in June 1942. ・Includes dedicated decals featuring the identification Hinomaru flag painted on the forward flight deck. ・Includes 75 aircraft: 21 Zero fighters, 27 Type 99 carrier-based dive bombers, and 27 Type 97 carrier-based torpedo bombers, matching the actual number carried during the MI Operation.
▪️Achieves detailed modeling only possible with the large 1/350 scale. ・The hull/bottom is a single piece, assembled by joining left and right halves. ・Side armor plates and bottom steel plates feature seams and thickness representation; drainage ports are depicted on the underside. ・The flight deck consists of three pieces: forward, center, and aft. ・The forward steel deck section features recessed seams. Preparatory molding for catapult equipment is also represented. ・The wooden deck in the central flight deck area is finely sculpted to recreate the appearance of tightly laid planks. ・The rear end features raised molded patterns representing anti-slip strips. ・The arresting wires and skid arresting devices are reproduced using included etched parts. ・The windshield fences can be assembled in either the raised or lowered position; the raised version includes detailing on the underside. ・The truss structure beneath the flight deck is a separate part from the deck itself, with front and rear positions provided. ・The crane beneath the stern flight deck features a one-piece rail part and multiple separate support pillars, creating a hollowed-out appearance. ・The bow flight deck supports can be configured with either 4 or 6 pillars. ・The bow anchor deck uses metal parts in addition to plastic parts. ・The linoleum flooring on parts of the stern and side sponsons is represented with delicate engraving for the fasteners. ・The floor surface of the 12.7cm high-angle gun mounts faithfully reproduces the strip pattern with raised molding. ・The aircraft elevator can be assembled in either the raised position or the stowed position on the upper hangar deck. ・The elevator also features molded eyebolts for securing aircraft. ・The bridge features a left-right split base section and a layered upper structure with molding applied around the entire circumference. ・The topmost section depicts the array of binoculars for lookouts using separate binocular parts. ・The searchlights and compass bridge windows mounted on the bridge are molded transparent. ・The funnel consists of two parts, upper and lower, depicting the depth of the smoke duct. ・The 25mm machine gun consists of 4 parts, with separate components achieving realistic detailing. ・The 12.7cm anti-aircraft gun (with shield) features separate parts for the shield and barrel. ・The 12.7cm anti-aircraft gun consists of 6 parts, including the recoil mechanism/propulsion unit on the barrel. ・The rudder reproduces the surface texture and curved frame sections. ・Included carrier aircraft: Model 21 Zero Carrier Fighter, Model 99 Carrier-based Dive Bomber, and Model 97 Carrier-based Torpedo Bomber. ・Transparent molded color provides realistic canopy appearance when assembled. ・Includes 3 types of decals, featuring flight deck white lines and carrier aircraft markings. ・One sheet of pre-cut paper stickers included, containing signal flags, naval ensign, and commander's flag.
