Description
Ship Model Series-No.17-Imperial Japanese Navy Aircraft Carrier-1941-Plastic Model Kit
The “Zuihō” at the outbreak of the Pacific War is newly added to the lineup in 1/350 scale. This product is an unpainted kit requiring glue assembly and painting. The scale is 1/350, featuring a full hull style including the ship's bottom. The Shōkaku-class aircraft carriers were planned under the Maru 3 Project, concurrent with the Yamato-class battleships. The second ship, the Zuikaku, was completed at Kawasaki Heavy Industries in Kobe in September 1941, before the Pacific War began. Together with the lead ship, the Shōkaku, it formed the 5th Air Fleet and participated in the attack on Pearl Harbor. It experienced the first-ever naval battle between aircraft carriers at the Battle of the Coral Sea. Following the loss of four carriers, including the flagship Akagi, which formed the core of Japan's air power, Zuihō remained a central force within the mobile fleet until the Battle of Leyte Gulf in October 1944. She was sunk by American air attacks during that battle. (Structure/Specification Features) ・This product is an unpainted kit requiring glue assembly and painting. ・Scale is 1/350.
