Product Introduction
The Saiun has been renewed with new decal specifications. This product is a 1/72 scale kit reproducing the Imperial Japanese Navy's “Nakajima Carrier-Based Reconnaissance Aircraft Saiun”. You can choose to build either the “Saiun Type 11,” the “Saiun Type 11 Night Reconnaissance,” or the “Saiun Type 12 (Modified).” The instruction manual has been completely redesigned, allowing you to select and assemble either the standard Type 11, the Type 11 Night Fighter, or the prototype Type 12 (Saiun Kai). Paint instructions are clearly marked. Includes dedicated gun barrels and canopies for the night fighter variant equipped with the 30mm oblique machine gun, a modification used by the 302nd Air Group. The Model 12's engine with exhaust turbine can be reproduced using dedicated parts. The molded color is light gray for easy painting, while the canopy, inspection windows on the lower fuselage, and wingtip lights are clear molded. The fuselage is split left/right, and the main wings are split upper/lower. The package illustration is a new piece drawn by Mikio Yoshihara. The highlight is the powerful illustration recreating the intense scene from the radio message: “No Grumman Pursuing Us..” ~New Decals Included~ Decals are included to reproduce the Hinomaru mark, aircraft number, unit insignia, cockpit instrument panel, and more. The Hinomaru mark comes in three options: borderless, white border, and green border. The cockpit instrument panel offers two choices: standard or night fighter variant. Airframe numbers can represent markings used by various units deployed in the later stages of the Pacific War.
