Product Introduction
This is Doyusha's “1/100 ANA Douglas DC-3 DAKOTA” plastic model kit.
The Douglas DC-3 is a twin-engine propeller passenger aircraft developed by the American aircraft manufacturer Douglas Aircraft Company (now Boeing).
It was also used as a military transport aircraft, known as the C-47 Skytrain.
After entering airline service in August 1936, it quickly became the best-selling passenger aircraft of its time. Mass production began for the U.S. Army as a transport aircraft starting in 1939, with nearly 11,000 units ultimately produced.
After the war, it was also operated in Japan. It was adopted as the main aircraft for All Nippon Airways (ANA), formed in 1958 by the merger of Japan Helicopter Transport (Nipperi Air) and Far East Air Transport, and served actively.
It became the star of Japan's skies at the time and is also a meritorious aircraft that supported the early days of ANA.
