The photograph depicts the Yomeimon Gate, considered the main gate of Nikko Toshogu Shrine. Following the Heisei Grand Restoration, it was reborn in March 2017 to its original form at the time of its founding.
Its history is said to begin in 1617 when the second shogun, Hidetada, built it as Toshogu Shrine to enshrine Ieyasu.
