“Houston, Dolphin Emergency.” is a hidden identity game that can be enjoyed by 3 to 5 players using an app.
One day, players—the surviving humans who were helplessly driven from Earth by suddenly attacking dolphins—discover that an enemy dolphin operative has infiltrated their spaceship and is carrying out sabotage...\ To repair the spaceship, players must elect one of their own as a sacrificial pilot to undertake the repairs, and they also need support from other pilots. However, one of the teams is already under the control of the dolphins and may sabotage their efforts.
The app judges mission success, so “who the traitor (dolphin agent) is” remains unknown.
Even without betrayal, a random chance (determined by the app.) of mission failure exists due to unfortunate debris collisions.
This creates uncertainty: was failure caused by betrayal or just bad luck? Through spacewalks, panic, voting and captain's orders for expulsion, and the culmination of rebellion, humanity wins by either repairing the spaceship or eliminating all members of the Dolphin faction. Conversely, the Dolphin faction wins if all humans are eliminated or the spaceship is flooded.
This tense board game makes hidden identity gameplay possible for small groups through a companion app.
