The 2014 German Expert Game Award winner makes a fresh appearance as a pen-and-paper game. The player's goal is to collect the most rubies. Each player takes turns playing a Location card or Guild card and performing its action. The action of a Location card allows you to choose that location or an adjacent location on the board to perform the action. This lets you acquire goods or lira, or exchange them for rubies.
If the active player plays a Location card,
other players may spend a Bonus Action to use that same Location card.
Choose wisely to pave your path to victory. When you acquire rubies, fill the spaces within the amulet on your Action Plan Sheet. When a player fills all 10 spaces on their amulet (collecting 10 rubies), the current round ends, and the game concludes.
Each turn, deciding which action to take and whether to piggyback on other players' turns makes every choice both agonizing and delightful. This masterpiece recreates the fun of the 2014 German Game of the Year Expert Award winner “Istanbul” in a pen-and-paper format.
