Hobby Japan - The Wizard and His Demons - 30-60 min - Ages 14+ - Board Game
A dungeon assault battle game where you send monsters into dungeons colored by various magical powers, fight other players' monsters, and aim for victory—featuring fun monster and magic power combos.
In “Wizard and His Demons,” players aim to defeat opponents within dungeons like ‘Fortresses’ and “Pyramids” and seize as many gems and treasures as possible.
Dungeon rules change each time due to various “Magic Power Tiles”.
On their turn, each player sequentially performs placement, monster card replenishment, and combat steps.
If a dungeon has space, players can place up to two monsters.
The number of cards replenished depends on how many monsters you place—focusing all your efforts on one dungeon means drawing no cards at all.
When a dungeon fills with monsters, combat begins. First, monster abilities may eliminate or stun other monsters.
These abilities affect your own monsters too.
Be cautious when placing monsters—unexpected combos might occur.
Afterward, surviving monster players gain gems, sometimes cursed gems. The top two players with the strongest monsters claim the treasure.
Treasures include points, equipment, and additional monsters, granting powerful benefits to their owners.
Treasures and sets of colored gems count as points, but cursed gems cancel out colored gems.
After combat ends, place new magic tiles to prepare a new dungeon. The game ends when all magic tiles are used up and no more dungeons remain.
At the end of the game, will you be the wizard who has earned the most points?
