Description
Pit Road-700-Imperial Japanese Navy-Tachibana-class Destroyer-Full Hull Included
The Tachibana-class was a simplified version of the wartime emergency-type Matsukaze-class destroyer, featuring a simplified plan configuration that halved the construction period. \
The primary missions of the “Matsu” class, including the “Tachibana” class, were landing support and supply operation support. They carried anti-aircraft armament, torpedo tubes, depth charge projectors, and depth charge rails, and also carried two 10m special cargo boats. \
The lead ship, Tachibana, completed at Yokosuka Naval Arsenal in January 1945, met its end in July of that same year when it was attacked by Allied aircraft off Hakodate.\
The sister ships “Nire,” “Nashi,” and “Hagi” were modified to carry kaiten suicide torpedoes, with launch platforms installed at their sterns.\
Surviving ships served as repatriation transport vessels after the war and were later transferred overseas as reparations ships. ・The product includes newly molded kaiten and launch platform parts to recreate the stern configuration with kaiten mounted. ・Decals for sister ships “Nire,” “Tsuta,” and ‘Hagi’ are included. ・Selectable surface/full-hull model (full-hull parts are newly molded). ・One ship per box. ・Overall length: approx. 142mm. ※The image shows a prototype assembled and painted using the Tachibana-class “Hagi.” (Display stand differs from the product.) ※The “Kaiten body and launch platform” in the image are prototypes. \
