Product Description
The Su-57 is a fifth-generation fighter aircraft developed under the Russian Air Force's “Future Combat Air System” program for next-generation main combat aircraft. It is intended to replace the aging MiG-29 and Su-27. Initially scheduled for its first flight in 2009, it experienced some delays and finally took to the skies in January 2010 under the Sukhoi Design Bureau designation “T-50”. The configuration of the first flight model featured a large tapered wing with a swept leading edge and a swept-back trailing edge. The angle of the fuselage sides matched the angle of the tail surfaces. In 2017, the Russian Air Force officially designated it as the Su-57.
The kit features molds partially modified for aircraft starting with the fourth prototype, following the Russian Air Force's 2017 decision to adopt the Su-57 designation.
Decal sets for the fourth prototype (T-50-4) and fifth prototype (T-50-5R) are included.
