Description
HABA - Viking Valley - Japanese Edition
Viking Valley is a game where players take turns rolling a large ball like in bowling, aiming to knock over barrels of specific colors on the board. By advancing Viking chips on the pier spaces corresponding to the colors of the barrels knocked over, players strategize positioning and timing to maximize their gold coin earnings. The annual Viking Valley event, the Giant Ball Bowling Tournament, is being held again this year. Players take turns, each rolling a large ball from the corner of the board closest to them, using a board to flick it and challenge themselves to knock down barrels of their intended color. If successful, they advance their Viking chips (including their own) one space along the pier course, corresponding to the color of the barrels knocked down. When a player's chip falls off the pier's edge into the sea, a “Share Settlement” occurs. Players whose chips remain on the pier receive gold coins based on the symbol depicted on the flag of the space their chip occupies (randomly assigned each game). Depending on the flag type, you can steal coins from other players' ships. Chips move using a “leapfrog” method, skipping over other chips on the same space without sharing it. Therefore, the order in which you advance multiple colored chips is crucial. Place any coins you receive into your Viking ship. Continue playing this way until the coin stockpile is depleted, ending the game. The player with the most coins in their ship wins. ▪️ This game is exciting and engaging because you constantly strategize on the pier about which colored chips to advance and in what order to maximize gold coins. You plan barrel placements in advance to knock over the corresponding barrels on the board or aim carefully. Moving chips along the pier course is quite strategic, but whether your plan succeeds hinges on the crucial big ball roll. This makes the placement of barrels by color important too. Additionally, the reward flags on pier spaces change each game, allowing you to enjoy different positioning strategies every time. It's a highly recommended game for a wide age range: children can enjoy it with a bit more focus, while adults can play it casually.
