The five colors of the daruma—blue, red, yellow, white, and black—are based on the ancient Chinese theory of Yin-Yang and the Five Elements.
Blue represents “Jōkon” (Steadfastness), the power to live strongly without distraction. Yellow symbolizes “Kongō” (Vigorous Devotion), the robust nature that never wavers.
