The third installment in the Great Western Trail series.
This time, herd sheep in New Zealand.
The core system combining dice rolling and deck building remains, but the setting shifts from 19th-century America to New Zealand. In this installment, the export target shifts from cattle to sheep, and the variety of cards used for deck building increases. A new action, “Shearing Sheep,” is added, enabling players to manage finances not only through sheep trading but also wool trading. A new resource, “Gold,” also appears. Gold can primarily be used to purchase bonus cards, but it also has various other uses.
Furthermore, shipping is now done by ship instead of rail, and the game includes a “Sea Route Board” offering multiple paths.
Choosing your route from these more flexible options becomes a key strategic point.
