Little Armory - STUDY1942-LA090 - Simonov PTRS1941 Type - Plastic Model
The 1/12 scale assembly kit “Little Armory” combines realism with compatibility for use with articulated figures. Recognizing the critical importance of anti-tank rifles, the Soviet high command ordered the development of the PTRS 1941, a semi-automatic anti-tank rifle designed by Engineer Simonov. This rifle was extraordinary: over 2 meters long, weighing over 20 kilograms, and capable of firing five rounds of a newly designed large-caliber 14.5mm cartridge in succession. This round possessed the capability to penetrate early German tanks, proving devastatingly effective. Although its ability to destroy tanks was soon lost due to evolving armor, it remained a long-range, high-power weapon, laying the foundation for the lineage of later anti-materiel rifles.
Furthermore, the SKS carbine, a scaled-down redesign of the PTRS1941, was highly regarded and significantly influenced post-war Soviet automatic weapon design.
This product, developed through research at the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Weapons School, models the PTRS1941's lengthy form at 1/12 scale.
It faithfully reproduces structural authenticity, including the option for a fixed magazine position and a movable bolt.
