Product Description
Thunder Model “1/32 USA/UK Clark Tall 6 Tractor Mill-44 Type Off-Road Double Tires” Plastic Model Kit.
Production of the Clark Tall 6 began in 1942 and continued until 1966.
From 1941 to 1945, Clark manufactured nearly 90 percent of the military's forklifts and tow tractors.
During World War II, there was no Allied airfield that did not have Clark Tall tow tractors deployed.
The Clark Tall 6 was equipped with a 62hp water-cooled Chrysler 6-cylinder 230-cid flathead gasoline engine and featured a 3-speed gearbox with a top speed of 24km/h. Production began in 1942, and by the war's end, Clark had delivered over 1,500 Clark-Tors 6 to the Royal Air Force. These were manufactured as the “BH” version, short for “British Heavy,” supplied to the RAF under the Lend-Lease program.
The Mill-44 was a heavier version of the tractor, capable of handling aircraft including heavy bombers operated by the USAAF and RAF, as well as all types of bomb trailers, with a towing capacity exceeding 90 tons.
